Infinity Ward reportated to be developing Modern Warfare 3!

2 of my prayers are answered!

In an article by Gamespot, even after the loses Vivendi (French company that owns Activision-Blizzard) stated that Infinity Ward is back to normal, and currently developing another engine to operate for the latest and greatest Modern Warfare. Expected just after 2011 (considering Sledgehammer Games is working on the next Call of Duty). However no employees from the IWEG have returned, it's still nice to see the rightful developer is making it's game. I'm hoping they'll conclude the series so Treyarch can't get a hold of Modern Warfare 4...

All in all, MW is not dead and far from it supposedly. This will be the last Call of Duty I'll ever check out, and good luck to those taking over. I even have a prediction that maybe 2 Call of Duty titles are due out next year. One from Sledgehammer, and one from IW. However that's highly unlikely expect to see MW3 in store shelves 2012.

This is good news As far as the story goes do you think they would abandon the one left off in MW 2? Or do you think they might go in some different direction because of the the whole lead team leaving?

Wait...Activision owns the Call of Duty name. Are they back working with Activision?

The whole reason the employees at IW were fired (Jason West and Vince Zampella) was because they were promised a million dollar pay check AFTER MW2's release. Not only that but they were also promised IW to become an independent developer and no longer be owned by Activision, and the Call of Duty and Modern Warfare name to be a product of IW's. So basically, after MW2... Activision could never ever ever again, make a Call of Duty game unless they got a consent from IW saying they could.
Well as you know better than anybody JORRRG... Activision likes their money, and $420 million is a lot of money, and since MW2 grossed that much, in March before IW could start complaining about getting their pay checks. Jason West later made a comment after a meeting with some Activision heads, "Well I guess we'll have to start selling our souls." And the rest is history...

Activision then fired JW and VZ, and good employees/friends of them quit IW. The Infinity Ward Employee Group was founded, they went to court the other day... and this is what has come of it... Activision 1, IW 0; Liverpool 3.

woah...what an epic saga. I am amazed that the CoD name wasn't taken by Activision. The publisher gets the rights like 99% of the time, and I didnt think Activision, the evilest company in games, would EVER let the dev keep the rights. Either Bobby and his cronies came over all soft when CoD got its start, or the heads of IW are like robin hood superheroes.

Lol maybe I made a typo... IW doesn't own the COD title. If they did, then Black Ops wouldn't have been made without their permission. Activision still owns the COD title, AND they also own the MW title now. That's why Activision fired Vince Zampella and Jason West, so that no other employee would want to lead IW to become an independent developer, but that idea back fired when the employees left IW and either went to Respawn or some other developer. XD

So Activision IS publishing MW3?

Seriously? Of course. The whole drama of IW employees leaving is because they were never going to have their title. So rather than make COD games better and improve the engine (because every engine Treyarch made sucked... see Big Red One and COD3) they just left Activision with the engine they have now, and just start over with Respawn Entertainment.

So.....IW ARE making MW3 with Activision as the publisher again..???

Exactly. Nothing happened to IW except it lost most of the studio heads and practically all of the guys who made the original games at IW.
